Hrs of Work:            25 hours weekly, 6 days a week

 

Position Purpose

Assistant District Managers assist the Circulation Home Delivery Department with the home delivery of 13,000 newspapers each day.  They report to off-site drop sites and are prepared to deliver open or down routes when Independent Contractors are not available or have breached their contracts, ensuring customers receive their paper on-time.  They also assist the Department with the initial on-route orientation of Independent Contractors, monitoring of addresses and other duties as determined by the District Manager.  Including but not limited to delivery list creation and maintenance.

Deliver newspaper routes between 2:00AM – 6:00AM that have no assigned contractor or routes that are down due to a contractor breaching their contract to ensure readers are not affected.

Deliver “end grace” notices to customers that have exceeded the grace period, check on deliveries of multiple complaints, deliver and install wedg-its and tubes for customers as needed, remove tubes from subscriber residences as required and update delivery order lists on office PC.

Assist in the “clearing” of distribution drop sites that includes loading newspapers in contractor vehicles, communicating needed information to contractors and contacting contractors to ensure their on-time completion of route.
